English Premiership League , Boxing Day Matches . Match Week 19.

Back to the Epl once again after the 2023 Christmas festivities . Just tot remind us that all other Euro leagues are on winter /Christmas break , except perhaps the Turkish League .

First match of the day , Newcastle vs Nothingham Forest at St James s stadium in Newcastle Upon Tyne.. Ordinarily , Newcastle United the Maggypies will easily humble 17th placed Nothingham Forest in the EPL , but a recent Managerial change should not be taken for granted . Steve Cooper , Forest Manager was relived of his managerial position for inactivity and was replaced by former Wolves Manager , Nunes Espirito Santos , a Portuguese , who is not a visitor to the English Premiership . He was in charge at Wolves and did a wonderful job at Wolves .
With the managerial change , definitely there will a tactical change in Forest , this was clearly evident in their last match against Bouremounth whom they gave a run for their money when they held them to a 2-2 draw , till the last minute of the extra time when a careless red card to a Forest defender who clearly cleared the ball was judged as red card , having previously received an earlier yellow card , which gave Bouremouth the chance to make it -2-3 , .

Newcastle seating on the 7th position , also lost their last league match at away against newly promoted , Luton Town 1-0 , though will like to win today s game at home against Forest , but football is not mathematics . It can go either way or a draw at least for them.

It would be recalled that before now Forest have not won or scored in their last three matches .

Based on head to count , which may not count today due to the Managerial changes in Forest , the two teams have met 10 times , with the Maggypies with 7 wins and Nothingham Forest with no win. and 3 draws for both sides

At Bramall Lane , at the Arena stadium in Sheffield , which happens to be the city in UK where Association football,first started in 1215, hosts Luton Town who humbled Newcastle United 1-0 last weekend .
Struggling Shefield who are most likely to be relegated at the end of the season , also almost beat Aston Villa at Villa Park lat weekend , but a last minute equalizer saved what could have been a humiliating defeat in front of their teeming supporters , to 1-1 draw.

History will also be made today when Sam Allison , becomes the first black official to officiate the match since Uniah Rennie who officiated for 11 years till 2008 .

Premiership ball Jugglers Bouremounth who have been impressive for the past three weeks , winning matches a giant both the big and lower teams as well as securing 15 to 18 points from 7 to 8 matches , welcomes Fulham at the Vitality stadium .

Both teams have been impressive lately but with Fulham recording a home loss to struggling as well as for now relegation bound Burnley who suddenly woke up from their slumber at Craven Cottage to pummell their hosts 0-2.

On a head to head count , both teams have met 4 times with Bouremounth with 2 wins and Fulham with just 1 win and a draw .
Both teams seat at the 12th and 13th position respectively .

Awake and heavily motivated Burnley welcomes Liverpool at the Turf Moor stadium , Burnley surprisingly secured an away win against Fulham in their last match at Craven Cottage .0-2 , Can they repeat the feat today or get at least a draw from Giant Killers , Liverpool ????. Though The Reds could not win their last match against Arsenal , they only got a draw 1-1 at Anfield .

On a head to head count , both teams have met 16 times , with Liverpool with 12 wins as against Burnley s 2 and 2 draws for both sides .
While Burnley is on the 19th position on the league table , Liverpool occupies the second spot (2).

The last match for the day , the Boxing Day games is between Man United and Aston Villa .
Both sides have been in fine form lately with some bits of ups and downs usually associates with football matters , you win some and lose some .
