Back to today s derby match , April 6, 2025 , is a different ball game, with the announcement of the Citizens midfield maestro, Kevin D Bryune of his intention to leave Etihad at the end of this season after a glorious 10 year spell in the city of Manchester , with so many trophies and medals to show for it .
In an emotional comment , D Bryune said he wants to end his stay in Etihad at the end of this season and this is likely to be his last City of Manchester derby match which he will be involved .
Hopefully he is fit as well to do so.
The Citizens back from from the International break , triumphed over Leicester with a 2-0 win ,mid week , while their opponents and hosts today lost for the 13th time 1-0 to Nothingham Forest and champions league hopefuls at the City ground .
Not withstanding past results , today’s derby match may prove a different point as well as another angle to football stories in the premeishiop, Man United playing at home to City , always comes all out to give a good account of themselves , though times have changed as well as shifting power dynamics lately , where the Citizens have held sway most of the times , ordinarily it has been a Man United dominance in the round leather game involving the two English giants .

Man United will not go to sleep at Old Trafford , considering their poor position in the Premsiehip League where they have been struggling all season with more defeats than wins , with their only hope to appear in the Europa or Champions League next season will be if they win the Europa League , which is also probable with the stiff opposition they are lekly to face in their reamining matches , so they will come all out against , would I say a City they may be complacent in today’s affairs , not knowing that Man United s foot solderis must have laid some unseen time bombs to unsettle City .

Though City , a bit confortable in the league table , but Chelsea s slender win against Tottenham on Thursday in another derby match have sent City back to the fifth position , unless a win today at Old Trafford will change their standing on the table .though the fifth position will guarantee their qualifying for the UEFA s qualifications ,thanks to England s superior UEFA co-effiecent could still be theirs and FA Cup glory against Nothgham Forest at Wembley for the semi finals .
City winning just three out of 11 games and losing six of them in their previous 37 games

Anthony Elenga s top finish against Man United at the City ground in Forest highlighted the Anti ion Amororins Red s need for a top finisher like him ,that made them to lose to third placed and Champions League spot hopefuls , Forest

After their comprehensive Pummeling of Everyone at the theater of dreams where they shut down their visitors completely as wella s a 2-1 win against City at Etihad , which shows that United have not lost any of their last three Derby’s under 90 minutes .
Can they absorb and sustain an attack from a hungry looking City within 90 minutes of hostilities in today s encounter .

Predictions ,

On paper , it will look like City will win , but apart from Man United s defensive vulnerabilities which is likely to be exposed by the eagle eyed City strikers , I don’t think it will go that way .
A Derby match is always full.of surprises and upsets , so we expect such this evening at Old Trafford , irrespective of past records or history of both teams .

Considering Man U s positions on the league table , today’s match will be an opportunity to right some wrongs and bring them to a safer place in the premeishiop league table .
