The stage is set for the Brazilian group leaders Flamengo and German champions Bayern Munich , in the round of 16 clash at the on going FIFA Club World Cup , 2025 at Hard Rock Stadium in Florida this Sunday .
We least expected the Brazilians to come first in the group while Bayern Muniuch came second .

What matters is their progress in the CWC , irrespective of who came first in their group, but coming second in their group have placed the Bavarians in a much tighter corner in the Club World Cup bracket
The Bavarians avoided Chelsea at this stage but feelers had it that Flamengo is a more stronger team in the group than Bayern Munich and if Bayern scale through to the quarter finals , PSG will be waiting for them in the other corner
Had it been that Bayern had gotten at least one point from their match against Benfica on match Day three , who were dismissed yesterday by Chelsea 1-4, , but a 1-0. loss to the Eagles pinned Bayern to the second position .

The Bundesliga champions had already qualified from their first two matches in the group games , against Auckland FC and Boca Juniors respectively that gave them six points , enough for the round of 16 qualifications , hence Vincent Kompany rested his first team squad ahead of today’s meetingh all the heat in America , which is not too good for the players .
Their defeat to Benfica was their first since they lost in the champions league quarter finals first leg to Inter Milan back in April .
And this may have consequences , as the Bundesliga side will like to replicate their achievements back in 2013 and 2020.

The Brazilians cruised to the round of 16 with 7 points from their group games three matches with ease , drawing only one against LAFC with a heavily rotated side from the first X1 squad . and winning massively against Chelsea 3-1 and African representative , Esperance of Tunis .
This extended , Flamengo s unbeaten run to 11 games , eight of them ended in victory , restoring their confidence in all matches they play as well as pulling more fans for them once they are playing , they have been having massive turn out from fans in all their matches in the Club World Cup which shows how well they are doing presently . They recorded about 54,000 fans in their match against Chelsea and are likely to get more this evening and any cause another upset if the Bavarians are found complacent .

Apart from , Nicolas de Cruz who was conspicuously absent in most of matches , others are available today and will welcome him back to the squad in the attack
The engine room will be master minded after the rotation against LAFC that ended in a draw , by their Coach Luis , mid fielders like Jorgihno , Gerson and Eric Pukgar are lying in wait for the Bavarians .
The rare men will comprise of Gonzalo Plata , Arytin Lucas and Leo Perriera .who will form a rock solid defensive wall to ward off the Bavarians strikers .
But, all eyes will be on the Brasiliero striker, Uruguayan born top finisher , Georgia de Arrascaete who have impressed in this campaign so far with a goal in Match Day one as well as a statistics of nine over nine in goals in the Brazilian league this season just before they came for this tournament ,plus a life saving goal for the Uruguayan National team lately .

Bayern will also make some changes in their starting line up for today’s match after a wide spread rotation in Match Day three ,
Likely , Harry Kane , Kingsley Coeman and Michael Olise will make the first eleven , while Jonathan Tah plays from the back as a defensive midfeider , there is also the possibility of another personnel change as , Jamal Musilia to make his first start in this Club World Cup .
Still not available in the rare for Bayern are Kim Min Jae , Alphonso Davies and Hirki Ito due to series of injuries , while Eric Dier was not listed for the Club World Cup squad

Predictions

With their slow and steady build up tactics which most teams have fallen victim lately , including Chelsea in the group stage , as Luis Filiope picked them off with patience , Bayern needs to do a lot of work in their rare , so they will not be caught napping with Flamengos *Slow and Steady * build up style , lest they will be another European casualty just like Chelsea
Bayern has it takes to dismiss the Brazilians , but Flamengo looks freshsr as their season just started before the Club World Cup, so it’s going to be a mixed grill for both sides of either goes to sleep .
