This piece of writing is trying to demean Pele’s football prowess in order to favour , Messi.who recently won the World Cup in Qatar What really happened is that most football awards as well as fifa rules that over protects strikers and attackers now , were not available then for us to judge . What we are using to judge the GOAT then and now is the number of times a player won the World Cup and also played a major role , it does not mean Pele must the highest goal scorer in all the editions of the World Cup he won with Brazil. After all at the 2018 World Cup in Russia , Messi had no record whatsoever as him and his Argentine team were booted out it the tournament preliminary rounds and he also lost all the penalties he played in 2018 World Cup, no one used it against him with reference to the present world cup he won in Qatar . In 2014 World Cup in Brazil Argentina played finals with Germany and lost , Messi could deliver his Argentine team to win the trophy in his native South America , Brazil who hosted . The best and only criteria to judge and win the GOAT that is tending on the social media is the number of times , the three or four candidates involved has won the World Cup. For example had it been that Argentina has previously won the World Cup with Messi three times and Pele ‘s own was only one or two times ??? who will be the GOAT??? It will be Messi , so on the reverse side since Pele and his Brazil National team won the World Cup three times and Pele was actively involved , hence he is the GOAT of all times . . When did Messi win the World Cup,??? at 35+ years !! a Grand Father , a Pensioner at PSG, his only good record is with Barcelona where he won the Champions League three time and many other trophies in Spanish La Liga.He is even lucky that he touched the World Cup with the Argentine team, if not I don’t think he will have a good football record than Pele and Maradonna .So Pele stands out as the best football player of all times . It’s not politics , the records are there .Same Maradonna and Messi only touched and won the World Cup once and with difficulty , Pele won the World Cup as a minor at 17 years in Sweden in 1958 , won it as an adolescent in 1962. later as a full fledged adult at the age of 30 years in Mexico in 1970 and retired from International football . While Messi at 35 years+, was almost begging fifa officials to swing the decisions of some matches at Qatar World Cup to enable him win the World Cup just once . The GOAT issue is not subject to debate or argument ,use the available biting records in football to judge and your judgement will go to the REAL GOAT , that is Pele who won it all . And was very outstanding in two of the World Cups. It was because of his football prowess that made Pele a target to defenders during the World Cup in 1962 as well as 1966 in England . Due to the hard tackles and knocks he received from England flat footed rear men at the 1966 World Cup , Pele at the time said he will not play football again in his life , that shows the type of football being played then when attackers were not given enough protection by fifa rules , which has favoured Messi more than Pele and Maradonna too , who suffered from crunchy tackles and knocks from dare devil defenders then, which is no longer available now. The current fifa rules favours strikers and attackers to stroll freely in their opponents territory , unlike during Pele and Maradonna s time Have we ever heard that Messi is injured for six month ,?? the answer is NO, simply because the enabling fifa rules gives strikers and midfielders over protection in matches . . .When writing about who is the GOAT always mention the enabling fifa rules both now and in the past .
